Under the guidance of the Higher and Technical Education Department, Government of Jharkhand, Ranchi, a one-day awareness-cum-training program on prevention of drug abuse was organized on June 4, 2025, in the Guru Pad Sambhav Auditorium of Babu Dinesh Singh University for teachers and students.
In this training program, Professor (Dr.) Keshavendra Kumar Tiwari, Principal of Devaki Mahavir Homeopathic Medical College & Research Hospital, Garhwa, Dr. Brijesh Kumar Yadav, Member of the Cell, Reader, and the University Registrar Professor (Dr.) Ajay Bhushan Prasad, delivered a detailed discussion through a PowerPoint presentation to teachers and students from various colleges/departments on the harmful effects of drug abuse.
A cell has already been established in the university to raise awareness among people about drug abuse. Through this cell, students are being continuously educated.
During this one-day program, the Vice-Chancellor of Babu Dinesh Singh University, Professor M.K. Singh, stated that nothing is more important than health in life. Therefore, refrain completely from consuming alcohol, gutkha, and other intoxicating substances. It is our responsibility to inform people in our society about the diseases caused by drug use and to raise awareness.
This one-day awareness and training program was attended by students from various colleges and departments of the university, as well as Deans, Principals, teachers, and librarians, including Dr. Basavaraj Kallali, Dr. Manish Dubey, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Sunita Gupta, Divya Tiru, Dr. P.D. Tiwari, and Rakesh Kumar Singh.
On behalf of the university, the program was conducted under the supervision of the University Registrar, Professor Ajay Bhushan Prasad.
