on 12th August 2025, as per the direction of University Grants Commission, New Delhi, the Anti-Ragging Week was inaugurated in the Gurupadasambhava Auditorium of Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa by the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor M.K. Singh and the Principals and Deans of various colleges and departments. Anti-Ragging Week is being organized from 12th August to 18th August 2025. On this occasion, various programs will be organized to make the students aware of the ill effects of ragging, legal provisions and preventive measures. In his address, the Vice Chancellor of the University said that ragging is a punishable offence. There should be a detailed preventive policy, monitoring and clear communication at the university level regarding ragging so that there is a ragging-free environment in the university campus. If any incident occurs in front of the students, they should fearlessly inform on the confidential number issued by the university. In which a clear policy, communication, anti-ragging committee and squad, awareness workshop, and surprise inspection of the canteen, a confidential email and mobile number have been made available for counselling and assistance. Ragging will not be tolerated at all in the campus. There are strict laws against ragging. Strict action will be taken against the students found involved in it and he appealed for cooperation from all to provide a fear-free and positive environment to the new students. To stop ragging, anti-ragging posters will be put up in all the departments, which will also have the mobile numbers of the concerned officials. Many cells have been created by the university and all the colleges like anti-ragging cell, ragging squad, through which the affected students will be able to get immediate help. In the said program, students from various colleges and departments along with Deans, Principals, teachers were present in which Dr. Basavaraj Kallali, Dr. Manish Dubey, Dr. Pankaj Kumar, Dr. Sunita Gupta, Divya Tiru, Dr. P.D. Tiwari participated. The program was hosted by Suyash Shri Rajvansh, teacher of Engineering and Technology Department and vote of thanks was given by the Registrar of the University, Professor Ajay Bhushan Prasad and in the end the program was declared closed with the national anthem.
