The grand inauguration of the Department of Law was held on 3rd September 15, 2025,2025 in the campus of Babu Dinesh Singh University, Garhwa. The chief guest of the program was Mr. Kaushal Kishore Jha, Principal District and Sessions Judge, Garhwa and various judicial officers of Garhwa Court including Mr. Shivnath Tripathi, Mr. Ashutosh Kumar Pandey, Mr. Kumar Vipul and Mr. Narendra Kumar were present. The guests were welcomed by the students with a welcome song and dance. The program was inaugurated by the chief guest, judicial officers of the court, Chancellor of the University Mr. Dinesh Prasad Singh and Vice Chancellor Professor M.K Singh by lighting the lamp and the Chancellor of the University honored the chief guest by giving him a plant, a memento and a shawl.
In the beginning, the Chief Guest and Principal District and Sessions Judge, Garhwa Mr. Kaushal Kishore Jha inaugurated the Law Department by cutting the ribbon and inspected the entire department by visiting it and expressed his happiness and satisfaction. In his address, Mr. Kishore gave the message to the students to adopt five important Ps to achieve success in life. He said that the personality of any student needs 1. Patience, 2. perseverance which can only be acquired through knowledge and experience. 3. Politeness humility is the first step towards success. 4. Punctuality the time that is passing is not just time but life, hence its proper use only takes a person to the heights of success. 5. Passion for acquiring knowledge learning never ends, the one who is always ready to learn from anyone moves ahead in life and occupies higher positions. He said that with patience a person learns to face situations, perseverance inspires him to move ahead continuously, humility gives him the opportunity to reach his goal, punctuality and dedication take him to new heights. And the urge to learn throughout life takes him to great heights. Students should adopt these principles in their daily lives and not only become good students, but also contribute to the society and nation building as an ideal citizen.
Presiding over the inaugural session of the Law Department, the Chancellor of Babu Dinesh University and the President of Vananchal Educational and Welfare Trust and the Chief Patron of the program, Honorable Shri Dinesh Prasad Singh said that the beginning of law education in the campus has finally become possible after a long wait. It was my wish that there should be a system of law education in our campus since the year 2005, which has been successful today. He further said that the establishment of the Law Department is not only an academic achievement, but it is a big step towards developing an understanding of justice, rights and duties in the society.
At the beginning of the session, the Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor MK Singh, while welcoming all the guests, principals, teachers and students, said that before the establishment of the university, traditional courses like Dental, Homeopathic, Nursing, ANM, B.Ed. courses were being conducted in various colleges. These courses provided higher education opportunities to the students of the region and contributed significantly to educational development at the local level. After the formation of the university, the scope of education has been further broadened. The university has not only strengthened the traditional courses, but has also paid special attention to vocational and skill-based education. In this sequence, new courses like engineering, management, information and technology, undergraduate, postgraduate, pharmacy, law have been started. The academic scope of the university has expanded due to the operation of these courses and the students are getting employment-oriented and professional education. In the same sequence, District and Additional Sessions Judge of Garhwa, Shri Shivnath Tripathi, while addressing the students on the occasion of the inauguration of the Law Department of the University, said that law is not just a subject but is the basis that gives direction to the society. Throwing light on the history of law, he said that students should understand technology, strengthen the language and deeply imbibe the objective of law. Shri Tripathi said that in the modern era, legal education is not limited to books only, but it should be spread to every section of the society. He called upon the students to not consider law as just a profession, but a powerful medium to establish justice and equality in the society. He also emphasized that only the strength of language and technical knowledge can make the study of law meaningful and useful.
At the end of the program, the Registrar of the University, Professor Ajay Bhushan Prasad thanked all the guests, Principals, Deans, Teachers, Non-Teaching Staff and Students present in the program. The stage was conducted by Assistant Professor of Nursing, Nilofer Praveen.
The Controller of Examinations of the University, Dr. Lalan Kumar, CEO Subhash Kumar, Administrative Officer Mr. Praveen Kumar Singh, Mr. Rakesh Kumar Singh and Principals, Deans, Non-Teaching Staff etc. of various colleges were present in this program.
